Mary George Ethridge born September 16, 1923 in Marlin, TX to Leola DeBardelebn and George Washington Gross. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Oliver Eugene, Jr., her husband Oliver Eugene, Sr., her brother John Gross of Troy, TX and her sister Nancy Lynn of Syracuse, New York, and numerous brother n laws, sister n laws, nieces and nephews.

Her life began at 10 pm on September 16, 1923 in Marlin, TX. and she went to be with her Lord on January 26, 2018 at 10 pm in Burkburnett, TX. She attended schools in the Falls County area, when she was a young woman she moved to what is now known as the Metroplex. She worked at the defense plant during World War II as a Rosie the Riveter. She helped to support the war efforts by building airplanes. After the war she met and married Oliver "Skinny" Ethridge. He too lived in Falls County. Their family's knew each other but it was his sister Leona Ethridge Shook that introduced them because she did not want her brother to marry someone from a foreign country while her brother was fighting in the war. They were married 32 years and had three children. My mom and dad traveled the world during his military years. There first stop of many was West Palm Beach soon after they married. Dad
bought the newest trailer on the market it was 8 ft wide and had no bathroom. The trailer park had a community bath and shower. They lived from the east coast to west coast including Hawaii to Europe. Finally retiring at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX.

She became a grandmother on September 28, 1976. His name is David Brian and he was the love of her life. He could do no wrong and got away with things his mother never could. As time went on she didn't get to see David as much as she would have liked but when he entered the room no one else mattered. Her attention was for no one but him. He was with her when it mattered and for that we are blessed.
She was blessed with a daughter n law Kristi and two granddaughters Jamie and Kyra and of course a great granddaughter Miss Hadley. Her granddaughter Kyra served in the Air Force and soon to be her granddaughter Jamie will be following would make her very proud.

Her oldest daughter Maryann took care of her for many years and that enabled her to remain in her home for many years.

She is survived by her daughters Maryann and Sheila, her grandson David, his wife Kristi. Great granddaughters Jamie and Kyra and her husband Anthony and great-great granddaughter Miss Hadley.

A special thanks to a very special person Charles for taking care of our family. My fondest memory while mother was a resident at Sheridan Medical Lodge in Burkburnett, TX, was he always made sure she had plenty of hot coffee with one cream in it.
